The 21st Annual Run for Tomorrow is to be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018. This 5K, Half Marathon, Mayor’s Get Fit Challenge One-Mile Family Health Walk and accompanying Rotary Fitness and Health Festival is jointly presented by the City of Weston and the Rotary Club of Weston.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital returns as the title sponsor for the 2018 Run for Tomorrow and Mayor’s Challenge. The Rotary Club of Weston welcomes and applauds JDCH for its generous sponsorship, which ties into the City’s dedication and commitment to infrastructure and programs that promote exercise, safety and a healthy lifestyle.  The City of Weston has been recognized as a “Healthy Weight Community Champion” by the Florida Department of Health for the last 4 years. Other returning major sponsors include DynaServ, Ultimate Software, Mercantil Bank, and Carolina Ale House.

With thousands of participants, the Rotary Run for Tomorrow is the largest annual run and community wellness event in the City of Weston.

The Run for Tomorrow Half Marathon and the 5K courses are USATF certified, and wind through beautiful Weston, Florida, starting from Cypress Bay High School. Once again, artfully designed runner medals and dri-fit shirts are provided to all runners, in addition to winner recognition in each category.

Friends, families and kids of all ages have a special opportunity to participate in the Mayor’s Challenge, a 1-mile Family Health walk, and the Fitness and Health Festival, a health and wellness festival that is open to the entire community.  The Mayor’s Challenge walk starts at 9 a.m. and is not timed. The Fitness and Health Festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features music, stage performances, multiple fitness and fun activities, health and wellness vendors, and businesses from in and around Weston showcasing their products and services.

For 5K and Half Marathon online runner registration forms and information, visit Day-of registration opens at 5 a.m. with the Half Marathon starting and 6:20 a.m. and the 5K starting at 7:30 a.m. Students attending elementary schools in Weston who wish to participate in the Mayor’s Challenge One-Mile Family Health Walk can get information at The top three elementary school teams with the highest percentage of participation will win cash prizes, the winner receives the Commission Cup, and of course bragging rights until next year.  There will be no cost to register for the walk this year but you must register

Proceeds from this significant community event go to the Weston Rotary Club’s local and international charitable, health and educational projects, which include Gilda’s Club, HANDY, Harvest Drive, Hope Outreach, LifeNet4Families, Sandy Nininger Jr. State Veterans’ Nursing Home, Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, and Rotary International’s fight to end Polio.

In 2017, despite the rainy weather, more than 2,000 run/walk participants and 4,000+ visitors attended the Run for Tomorrow and the Run and Rotary Fun and Health Fest. Over 600 elementary school students participated in the Mayor’s Get Fit Challenger, plus more than 300 student and adult volunteers.
