District Governor
Peter Verbeeck, 2020-2021
A Key Biscayne Rotarian, Peter Verbeeck was born in Brussels Belgium and grew up in The Congo for 9 years. He attended N. Miami High, the University of Brussels, Belgium & Florida Int’l University where he obtained a Masters’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance & Accounting.
Peter is President of Eastern Trailer Sales, which sells, finances and leases new and used tractor-trailer and ocean cargo containers.
Peter has served as President of the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, was District Membership Chair, and Zone 34 Covid-19 Foundation Sub Chair. Peter is a Major Rotary International Donor, member of the Bequest Society and District Rotarian of the Year 2017-2018. He is also a member of the Rotary International Haiti Handwash Committee. In District 6990, Peter works with the five Rotary Clubs in Grand Bahama who are still recovering from Hurricane Dorian. He has participated in 2 Polio National Immunization trips to India.
In addition, Peter travels twice a year to Africa with projects that include Global Grants for building schools, water, sanitation, disease prevention and economic development projects. He partners with Past District Governor Carl Treleavan and Past President Walter Hughes on micro-loan lending.
As the District Governor for District 6990 covering S.E. Florida and Grand Bahama Island, Peter promotes Rotary’s Vision Statement that together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change- across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Peter’s son Michael is 21 years old, attends Miami Dade College and promotes his late son Eric’s legacy by promoting lasting projects to help humanity.
